The Bristol tri-op swimming and diving team, made up of Central, Eastern and St. Paul, has been on a roll recently.
The team won its third straight meet on Friday when it knocked off Northwest Catholic at the Dennis Malone Aquatic Center. There’s one meet left in the regular season for Bristol, and that’s Tuesday against Middletown at home.
According to the roster on the CIAC, Bristol has just one senior, and that’s Cameron Reed. Juniors are Brian Collins, Michael Kaminski, Elijah Ortiz and Abdul Rafay. The sophomores are Jack Alling, Michael Bond, Noah Kachidurian, Jordan Northrup and Jacob Roloff. The freshmen are Anthony Fasci, Jake Mendocha, Josh Mitchell, Thomas Pualoz, Luke Schilling, Lewis Sinche and Ben Stafford.
WRESTLING

Class L: Bristol Eastern and Bristol Central competed at Bristol Central High School.
Class S: St. Paul competed at Windham High School.
GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bristol Eastern: The Lancers closed out their regular season with a home win over Bristol Central. Bristol Eastern finished the regular season 15-5 and earned a spot in the CCC Tournament. The CIAC state tournament seeds aren’t released officially until Wednesday, but the Lancers are currently No. 15. That puts them in a first round home game against No. 18 Lyman Hall of Wallingford, a member of the Southern Connecticut Conference.
St. Paul: Due to weather issues, the Falcons closed the regular season with three games in three days. St. Paul won them all, knocking off Derby on Monday and Tuesday, then defeating Ansonia on Wednesday.
The Falcons won 70-40 over Derby at home on Monday. Jade Udoh had 14 points while Chantell Lopez added 13. Brigid Johndrow had nine points, seven assists and five steals.
On Tuesday, St. Paul took a 67-36 win in Derby.
On Wednesday, the Falcons closed the regular season with a 69-22 win over Ansonia. Lopez and Janessa Gonzalez each scored 12 points.
St. Paul finished the regular season at 17-3, 17-1 in the NVL. The Falcons earned the No. 2 seed in the NVL Tournament and took on No. 7 Sacred Heart, a team they beat 51-36 on the road on Dec. 22.
St. Paul is unofficially the No. 7 seed in Class M, setting it up for a first round home game against No. 26 Griswold, a member of the Eastern Connecticut Conference.
Bristol Central: With losses to Bristol Eastern and Plainville (Wednesday at home), the Rams finished the season 1-19. Seniors Meg Hamel, Sarah Strilkauskas and Ravan Rodriguez all played in their final home game Wednesday. Fellow senior Brianna Hamel got to play in the Eastern game and scored one basket. Brianna Hamel was out for the season with an injury.
BOYS BASKETBALL
St. Paul: The Falcons put together a 3-0 week with wins over Ansonia, Derby and Waterbury Career Academy.
St. Paul improved to 15-4 with the wins and has one game left in the regular season, Wednesday at Crosby.
In the first game of the week, the Falcons blew out Ansonia 81-54 on Monday on the road. St. Paul clinched the NVL Copper Division for the second time in three years behind Tyler Arbuckle’s 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Darek Wiecki had 18 points and 10 rebounds, Mike Palmieri added 16 points and five rebounds, and Austin Jones put together 11 points with 13 rebounds and four assists.
Tuesday brought another balanced effort and a 67-47 win over Derby. Palmieri led the way with 18 points, followed by Arbuckle’s 16, Wiecki’s eight and 10 rebounds, Jones’ eight and 10 rebounds, and five points from Eli Kennedy.
On Thursday, St. Paul played without Jones against WCA in Waterbury, but scratched out a 63-59 win.
As of now, the Falcons are ranked fifth in Class S. Official seeds come out March 1.
Bristol Central: The Rams began the week with a road loss to Newington, but bounced back for a home win over Farmington.
Central lost 64-41 at Newington on Monday, and it was the first and third quarters that did the visitors in. The Rams were outscored 20-8 and 19-8 respectively. Jaekwon Spencer scored 11 points while Alex Bernier added eight.
In the 52-46 win over Farmington on Tuesday, Spencer and Bernier each tallied 14 points while Mike Lemke added 11.
Central improved to 9-10 and plays its regular season finale Monday against Bristol Eastern at home. The Rams are ranked 23rd in Class L.
Bristol Eastern: After not having a game since Feb. 3, the Lancers played in three this past week, dropping all of them.
Eastern lost 68-59 to Hall on Tuesday, 77-64 to Platt on Wednesday and 54-47 to Wethersfield on Friday. Eastern dropped to 5-13 with the losses.
Roderick Jenkins led the Lancers in all three games with point totals of 27, 21 and 23. Carter Dziedzic posted 10 points against Hall, then went for 20 against Platt.
Eastern is 35th in Class L. The Lancers close the regular season with games at Bristol Central on Monday and Berlin on Wednesday.
INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
There will be several Mum City representatives in the State Open on Monday at New Haven’s Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Bristol Central senior Kaynan Conrod is seeded seventh in the 300-meter dash while junior Shy-Ann Whitten is 12th in the high jump.
Central also has two relays in the Open. The 4×400 relay is seventh and is made up of senior Luis Medina, senior Sean Fitzgerald, junior Pat Kjornrattanawanich and Conrod. The 4×200 is seeded 11th and is made up of Conrod, Fitzgerald, junior Nigel West and Medina.
Bristol Eastern senior Christopher LeBeau is seeded 15th in the 600 meters.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
