Torreso earns Atlantic 10 all-rookie honors
Former Bristol Central softball standout Sophia Torreso had a strong freshman season at George Washington University, and she was recognized for her efforts.
Torreso was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference’s All-Rookie Team. She was GWU’s most-used pitcher and compiled 10 wins while posting a 4.37 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. Torreso struck out 81 and walked 60 in 139 innings pitched. She appeared in 36 games, made 24 starts, tossed 10 complete games and had one save.
GWU finished the season with a record of 27-26.
