The Bristol Eastern boys basketball team had reason to be happy on Thursday afternoon after its game against Wolcott.
The Lancers picked up their first win, 58-36, over the Eagles in the consolation game of the Bristol Central Holiday Tournament. Eastern improved to 1-3 and was able to bounce back from a lopsided loss to Bristol Central two days before.
Nasir Walker-Jenkins erupted for 27 points to lead the Lancers. Elijah Borgelin had nine points and nine rebounds while Lucas Sward added nine points, four assists and six steals. Nate Fries and Isaiah Lawrence-Bynum were strong on defense for Eastern.
The Lancers don’t return to competition until after the new year. When they do, they will play home games against Berlin (Jan. 4) and Simsbury (Jan. 6).
Matt Cole scored 12 points and Terrance Stevens added nine points for Wolcott, which fell to 0-3.
