May 26, 2016: The St. Paul girls tennis team has seen some players come through the program. On this date in 2016, one of them captured the NVL’s top prize in singles play.
Junior Natasha Kempes faced off against sophomore Victoria Kilbourne in an all-St. Paul semifinal at Woodland Regional High School in Beacon Falls. Kempes won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. In the NVL singles final, Kempes defeated Woodland’s Ally Mayne, 6-1, 6-1. Kempes and Kilbourne were both named to the All-NVL team.
