It was a big day for Bell City scholastic track and field Tuesday.

The undefeated Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern boys teams met at Bristol Central High School with the CCC South Division regular season title on the line, and the meet didn’t disappoint.

The Rams outscored the Lancers convincingly in field events and distance races on the way to an 81-69 victory. Central ended the regular season with a 7-0 record while Eastern finished at 6-1.

The Rams won all seven field events, and they finished first and second in the javelin, pole vault and triple jump. Central also placed first and second in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. The Rams outscored the Lancers in just those five events by a 40-5 margin.

Central used its strength in field events (45-18) and distance races (20-7) to negate the advantages Eastern held in sprints (26-1) and relays (10-5). The Rams had 10 team points in hurdles, as opposed to eight for the Lancers.

Central senior standout Treshawn Blair was a triple winner in the high jump (6 feet), long jump (21-9.5) and triple jump (44-6). Ram junior Jude Browning took home victories in the javelin (131-7) and pole vault (11-0). Central also picked up individual wins from senior Francis Porrini III in the 1,600 (4:44); senior Christopher Roy in the 3,200 (11:01); junior Logan Jackson in the 300 hurdles (41.8); sophomore Tashawn Cauley in the shot put (40-8.5). The Rams’ 4×800 relay of sophomore Julieen Lopez, sophomore Isaiah Fabrizio, Roy and Porrini was also victorious (8:19).

Eastern junior standout Rayshon Andrews was a double winner in the 100 (11.2) and 200 (22.6). The Lancers also picked up individual wins from senior Justin Sanchez in the 400 (51.8); senior Jack Mulcunry in the 800 (1:54.1); and junior Zion Otero in the 110 hurdles (16.2). Eastern also won the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. The 4×100 team of senior Preston Poirier, Sanchez, senior Dennis Cruz and Andrews finished first in 44.1. The 4×400 team of Otero, junior Damien Colon, Cruz and Mulcunry was first in 3:31.9.
