May 18, 2017: There was some uncertainty surrounding Bristol Eastern softball entering the season.
There were four freshmen starters, and there was a key player who was injured. Once the Lancers began to realize their potential, things fell into place. When Eastern knocked off Newington, 3-0, at home on May 18, it clinched a share of the CCC South Division title. Strong pitching and small ball helped the Lancers claim that victory.
