May 21, 2017: On this date, I published a Wolcott weekly roundup, and it was led off by the boys tennis team.

The Eagles had been doing their fair share of winning in the NVL, but they took it to another level in 2017. Wolcott knocked off Torrington, 6-3, in a battle of the league’s top teams at Woodland Regional High School in Beacon Falls in the NVL team tournament final. The Eagles won their fourth straight NVL title.

Here’s my roundup that was published on May 21, 2017.

This turned into a two-for-one post, and it was justified given what Wolcott did over a four-year span. Wolcott 2017 seniors Matt Spina, Matt Mastropietro, Raheel Chowdhury and Mike Perreault graduated with four straight NVL titles and 77 consecutive team victories. That’s a lot of winning.
