Bristol Eastern boys soccer gets back on track with win over Bristol Central

After two ties and two one-goal losses in a five-game stretch, Bristol Eastern boys soccer needed a win to regain momentum before the state tournament.

It was an absolute battle against rival Bristol Central on Monday night to get that victory. The Lancers outlasted the Rams 4-3 in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Bristol Central High School. The first game between the girls was also 4-3 and went overtime, so the boys game started late. Those who stuck around saw a great battle between rival boys.

Bristol Eastern finished the regular season at 8-5-3. After starting the season with a pair of losses, the Lancers went 10 straight games (7-0-3) before their next loss. Two straight losses followed, but the streak was snapped by the big win over Bristol Central. Connor Errato scored the game-winning goal against the Rams. Jake Woznicki, someone who always seems to save his best for Bristol Central, scored two goals while Dante Costantiello scored the other goal.
