Bristol Eastern girls soccer takes CCC South Patriot Division title

What a turnaround it has been for Bristol Eastern girls soccer.

The Lancers lost 8-3 to Plainville the first time the CCC South Region Patriot Division foes met on Sept. 11. On Halloween, Bristol Eastern salvaged a scoreless tie against Plainville at Bristol Eastern High School.

It may be the most satisfying tie the Lancers have had recently. The tie gave the Lancers (4-1-3 CCC South Region) the Patriot Division title over the Blue Devils (4-2-2). Bristol Eastern finished the regular season with a record of 7-6-3 after starting out 0-4-2.

On Monday, the Lancers claimed a wild 4-3 overtime win against the Rams on Monday night at Bristol Central High School. The two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in the first meeting.

All of the goals on Monday were scored after halftime. Ciara Collins and Myah Croze both scored two goals, but as coach Scott Redman said on Twitter, it was a total team effort. Redman also lauded the performances of Hanna Richards, Ava Gilbert, Kailey Laprise, Angelina Lusitani, Danielle Bairrington and Meredith Forman.

Bristol Eastern is 7-2-1 since the 0-4-2 start. The Lancers hope to carry that momentum into the Class L state tournament. Pairings will be released Friday by the CIAC.
