Holy Cross, Waterbury Career Academy and Wolcott football all won by large margins on Friday night in the third week of the high school football season. Kennedy added a dominating win on Saturday morning.
The Crusaders shut out Sacred Heart/Kaynor Tech 47-0 at Ray Snyder Sr. Field. The Spartans ran past Crosby by a count of 52-12 at Jimmy Lee Stadium, and the Eagles knocked off Torrington 38-6 at Joe Monroe Field.

Holy Cross 47, Sacred Heart/Kaynor Tech 0
Alex Ward had touchdown runs of 8, 18 and 5 yards for the Crusaders in the victory.
Pat Giancarli ran for scores of 10 and 50 yards, and Corey Fappiano threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Connor Goggin. Fappiano also had a a one-yard touchdown run, according to a game summary posted on The Red Zone.
Holy Cross jumped ahead 13-0 after one quarter, then extended the lead to 33-0 by halftime. The Crusaders improved to 2-1 on the season while SH/KT fell to 0-3.
WCA 52, Crosby 12
Jalen Gopie was again the man for the Spartans with three rushing touchdowns.
Savion Ettson threw touchdown passes of 85 and 50 yards to Langstun Racine and Darrell Coombs, and John Castro ran for another score, according to a roundup posted on The Red Zone. WCA improved to 2-1 with the victory.
Marquel Jackson-Smith and Brian West each had a rushing touchdown for Crosby, which fell to 0-3.
Wolcott 38, Torrington 6
Jake Filippone started the game with a bang when he returned an interception 71 yards for the first Eagle touchdown of the night.
Anthony Ligi ran for touchdowns of 89 and 85 yards as Wolcott built a 22-0 lead, according to a summary posted on The Red Zone. Jake Sforza scored from nine yards out, and a third successful two-point conversion in four attempts pushed the Eagle lead to 30-0, where it remained at halftime. Matt Olmstead had the final Wolcott score with a six-yard touchdown run. The Eagles churned up 350 yards rushing, including 221 from Ligi.
Wolcott improved to 2-1 with the victory and faces undefeated Woodland (3-0) next Friday in Beacon Falls.
Kennedy 34, Wilby 0 (Saturday)
The Eagles shut out the Wildcats on Saturday morning at Snyder Field.
Kennedy improved to 2-1 and will play fellow 2-1 squad WCA next Saturday at 3 p.m. at Snyder Field. Wilby dropped to 0-3 and was shut out for the third straight game.
