Bristol Central, Bristol Eastern runners fare well at Sloper Relays

Local runners put together some great efforts during the 8th Annual Sloper Relays at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington on Friday.

Here’s what happened in the high school races:

Two Boys Division

Bristol Central finished first and second in this race, where two boys combined to run three miles apiece. The “C” team, made up of sophomore Nate DeAngelo and junior Jose Ramirez, finished first in a time of 30:55. The Ram “A” team of juniors Mark Petrosky and Ben Stafford placed second in 31:08. 

Two Girls Division

Bristol Central’s “A” team of sophomore Isabella Crandall and freshman Natalie Dube took third place in a time of 42:19. As with the boys, two girls ran a combined three miles apiece.

One Boy/One Girl Division

The Bristol Central combination of seniors Ian Kreciglowa and Alexandra Sirko finished third in a time of 36:39. A boy and a girl combined to run three miles each in this race.

Four Girls Division

The top spot in this race belonged to the Bristol Eastern “A” team of sophomore Avery Braccia, freshman Fiona Gallagher, senior Paige McLaughlin and junior Kelsie St. Germain, who finished in 41:03. Each girl ran a single 1.5-mile lap for six miles, or four laps, total.

Four Boys Division

Bristol Eastern’s “A’ team of senior Zach Martin, junior Nick Provenzano, senior Sean Sullivan and senior Ben Wadowski claimed second place in a time of 32:52. This race followed the same format as the Four Girls Division.

The Kennedy “A” team of junior Alex Brites, sophomore Derek Yates, senior Sergio Guerare and senior Aaron Lamar finished fourth in 33:38.

 

Four Co-Ed Division

The Kaynor Tech “A” team was the top local finisher in this race after taking eighth place. The team of junior Scott Dalesio, senior Jesus Morales, senior Melanie Sanchez and sophomore Mystic Stephenson completed the race in a time of 43:49.

Four Freshmen Boys Division

Bristol Eastern led the way in this race behind its “A” team of Logan Crowley, Freddie Jones III, Dante Marciano and Josh Moore, which took first in a time of 38:39. The Bristol Central “A” team of Noah Conrod, Timofei Pechenin, Tyler Wilson and Adam Zarick placed fourth in 40:01.
