Central, Eastern boys meet for first time tonight

A buzzer-beater at Bristol Eastern. A feisty, close game at Bristol Central.
That was the story of the two basketball games between the Lancer and Ram boys last season. They meet for the first time this season tonight at Bristol Central High School at 6:45. It should be a big crowd with plenty of noise and emotion to go around.
Central is 7-3 and comes in on a six-game winning streak. The Rams have been led by Jaekwon Spencer, Alex Bernier, Dathan Hickey, Isaiah Miller and Dathan Hickey. Spencer is a multi-tool player who can go outside and inside.
Eastern is 3-5 and would love to snap its four-game losing streak with a win over its rival. Mac Goulet was the high scorer in the most recent game, a tough 45-42 home loss to Berlin. Different players have stepped up for the Lancers, who have battled injuries. Those players have included Jake Lafferty, Nate Silva, Tyler Mason and Camryn Tate, to name a few. Eastern has missed Carter Dziedzic, who has been out with an injury.
As usual, this should be a high-energy game. Get there early. Central may have a big gym, but there’s always a big crowd for Central-Eastern.
