The St. Paul and Crosby football teams were each looking for their first win of the season when they met on Saturday afternoon at McPhee Field in Bristol.
The Falcons seized their first victory, 42-14, over the Bulldogs. St. Paul improved to 1-5 while Crosby fell to 0-6.
The Falcons ran their way to victory, piling up 269 yards and six touchdowns on 49 carries, according to statistics posted on Hudl. St. Paul attempted just three passes and completed two for 35 yards. The Falcons tallied 20 first downs to just six for the Bulldogs.
Quentin Conner ran for three touchdowns, Erik Atkinson scored twice on the ground, and Max Peruta carried for the final score, according to Ryan Chichester’s story on The Bristol Press website. St. Paul led 30-0 at halftime on two touchdowns apiece by Conner and Atkinson. On defense, Isaiah Conner and Chase Aston came up with interceptions.
Crosby ran for 132 yards and threw for 46, according to the stats on Hudl. Michael Scott and Jeffery Burke scored rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
