Lots of baseball for Blasius Chevrolet, Terryville Black Sox

Blasius Chevrolet and the Terryville Black Sox are currently in a busy stretch of postseason baseball.

Actually, busy is an understatement. Blasius and Terryville just earned their places in the Stan Musial State Tournament championship game, but that will have to wait.

Blasius is the No. 3 seed in the Connecticut Tri-State Baseball League playoffs while Terryville is the top seed. Both teams began their best-of-three second round series on Saturday. Blasius lost 5-1 to the No. 6 Naugatuck Dogs at Hotchkiss Field in Prospect. Terryville hosted the Bethlehem Plowboys at the Old Terryville High School. Game 2 is on Sunday, and Game 3, if necessary, is Monday for Terryville, Tuesday for Blasius.

Blasius and Terryville will also play in the American Amateur Baseball Congress Northeast World Series, which begins this coming Thursday and runs through Sunday, Aug. 11. The semifinals of the Tri-State playoffs are Aug. 13-15, and the Tri-State World Series is Aug. 20-22. Somewhere in there, or after the World Series, Blasius and Terryville play for the Stan Musial State Tournament crown.
