After a quick break for the Stan Musial State Tournament, the Connecticut Tri-State Baseball League Playoffs return this weekend with the second round of games.
Each series is a best-of-three. The top four teams in the league are in action for the first time in these playoffs. The Terryville Black Sox and Tri-Town Trojans each finished with a 16-2 regular season record. Blasius Chevrolet and the Litchfield Cowboys were right the leaders at 14-4.
Here are the second round matchups, with each series beginning on Saturday:
Terryville Black Sox vs. Bethlehem Plowboys: This series starts Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Old Terryville High School. Game 2 is Sunday at 11 a.m. at Gallup Field in Bethlehem. Game 3, if necessary, is Monday at 7 p.m. at Waterville Park. Terryville easily won the regular season matchup, 11-1 on July 16 in Terryville.
Tri-Town Trojans vs. Amenia Monarchs: This series starts Saturday at noon at Community Field in Litchfield. Game 2 is Sunday at 1 p.m. at Doc Bartlett Field in Amenia. Game 3, if necessary, is on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Community Field. Tri-Town won the regular season meeting, 5-2 on July 9 in Amenia.
Blasius Chevrolet vs. Naugatuck Dogs: This series starts Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hotchkiss Field in Prospect. Game 2 is Sunday at 3 p.m. at Rotary Field in Naugatuck. Game 3, if necessary, is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field. Blasius won the regular season meeting, 10-0 on June 27 in Prospect.
Litchfield Cowboys vs. Wolcott Scrappers: This series starts Saturday at 11 a.m. at Litchfield High School. Game 2 is Sunday at 6 p.m. at the B.A.W. Complex in Wolcott. Game 3, if necessary, is Monday at Litchfield High School at 5:30 p.m.
