Sacred Heart graduate and Waterbury native Peyton Stephens has been seeing time on the mound for the Bristol Blues.
Stephens began the summer with the Keene Swamp Bats (Keene, N.H.) of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He pitched in three games for Keene.
Stephens was picked up by Bristol earlier this month, and he has appeared in two games on the mound. He has pitched 2.2 innings and has seven strikeouts and four walks to go along with an ERA of 0.00.
Stephens’ first appearance came in a 14-0 win over the Nashua Silver Knights on July 24. He threw two innings, struck out six and walked three. On July 28 against the Brockton Rox, Stephens had a strikeout and walk in 0.2 inning in a 9-3 victory. Stephens also batted in that game and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout.
