It has been a busy 2019 for recent Bristol Eastern graduate Jagger Duquette.
Duquette was the ace right-hander for the Lancers baseball team in the spring, then took on the same role with the Bristol Post 2 American Legion 19U squad. On Wednesday, Duquette made his debut with the Bristol Blues. High school graduates can play in the FCBL, and Duquette took advantage.
He pitched six innings in relief of former Sacred Heart standout Peyton Stephens and gave up a run on four hits to go along with three strikeouts. Bristol won the first game of the doubleheader against the Worcester Bravehearts, 12-4, at Muzzy Field.
The first game of the doubleheader featured an All-NVL starting pitcher matchup between Stephens and Cole Chudoba of Oxford, who threw for the Bravehearts. Stephens struggled with his control and gave up three runs in his one inning of work in the rain. Chudoba lasted three innings, gave up five runs, and was the losing pitcher.
The first game of the doubleheader started over two hours late after heavy rain pummeled Muzzy Field.
