Bristol American Legion Post 2 baseball hasn’t won a state championship since 2006, and they were looking to end their drought in 2019.
Bristol pushed its way into the super regional portion of the 19U tournament, but was ousted on Monday night in South Windsor. Post 2 lost 2-1 to Waterford at Rotary Field and saw its season end with an overall record of 24-9. Bristol went 1-2 in super regional play in the northern portion of the 19U tournament.

Bristol scored its one run in the bottom of the second inning. Joshua Nohilly and Warkoski drew back-to-back walks with one out, then Nohilly reached third on a fly ball hit by Alec DiLoreto. Waterford scored both of its runs in the top of the fifth inning. Anthony Tonucci walked with one out, stole second base, then scored on Ryan O’Connell’s single to tie the game, 1-1. O’Connell advanced to second on a fielder’s choice, then scored on Robert Silva’s two-out double to put Waterford ahead, 2-1.
