Raymond Snyder IV, Southern Connecticut State swimming and diving
The senior competed with his Owl teammates at the University of Connecticut Husky Invitational last Saturday, and he had a terrific outing.
The former Sacred Heart star put together three Top 5 finishes, and for that effort, he was named Northeast-10 Swimmer of the Week. Snyder’s best finish was fourth in the 100-yard individual medley. He was fifth in both the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly.
The next meet for Snyder and his Owl teammates is the Northeast-10 Championships, which takes place Feb. 16-19 in New Haven.
Individually, Snyder is the defending NE-10 champion in the 100 backstroke. He was also part of two NE-10 Championship relays — the 200 and 400 freestyle.

In a quick shift to a warmer season with the blizzard going on today, take a look at Pfeiffer and their junior centerfielder.
The Falcons have been picked to finish second in the Conference Carolinas, according to the preseason coaches’ poll. Walker is a big reason why. Last season, she stole 14 bases in 15 attempts and scored 36 runs. Just as important, Walker played tremendous defense as a centerfielder.
Pfeiffer isn’t just being recognized in its conference. The Falcons received votes in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
Pfeiffer is on the map, and last season is the reason why. The Falcons had their best campaign in program history, winning 39 games. Pfeiffer advanced to its second-ever NCAA Tournament. The Falcons made the season even better by winning their first-ever tournament game.
Pfeiffer is the only Conference Carolinas team to receive votes in the national poll. The Falcons are poised for another big season, and Walker looks to be right in the middle of it.

After coming off the bench for the first 20 games of her career, Siders was inserted into the starting lineup in a Jan. 24 game against Merrimack College.
Siders has started all five games the Yellow Jackets have played, including that Merrimack contest.
On Tuesday, Siders and AIC took on Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Siders buried 3-of-4 three-point attempts and finished with nine big points in 21 minutes. The Yellow Jackets knocked off the Owls 80-75. One of those 3-pointers helped stem a major burst from SCSU. Another cut the AIC deficit to single digits. The last trey brought the Yellow Jackets to 48-44.
Since entering the lineup, Siders is averaging 7.2 points per game. She is 8-for-24 on 3-pointers in her five games in the starting lineup. And as Siders proved against SCSU, she is capable of knocking down a big trey when AIC needs it.

Charles Fisher, Post University basketball
It’s been an interesting transition for the former Sacred Heart defensive standout.
Fisher was a fixture in the Heart starting lineup, but his role has changed in his freshman season with the Eagles.
Fisher has played a total of 21 minutes in six games. He played two minutes in an 85-63 loss to Goldey-Beacom last Saturday. He had a rebound and a turnover.
Fisher played his first collegiate game on Nov. 11 against Merrimack. He grabbed his first rebound on Dec. 5 against Caldwell, then scored his first points on Jan. 4 against Chestnut Hill College.
Fisher scored all four of his points for the season against Chestnut Hill, going 1-for-1 from the field and 2-for-2 from the foul line. Fisher also had a steal in that game.
Fisher is playing for first-year head coach Marc Kuntz. Kuntz took over for Al Sokaitis.

The former Bristol Central star had a strong effort at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston on the weekend of Jan. 27-28.
Craig won both the 400 and 200-meter dashes at the invite. Not only did Craig pick up two wins, she tallied a personal-best time in the 400. Craig ran the 400 in 58.95 seconds. In the 200, she won with a time of 26.32 seconds.
The meet was held at the Boston University Tennis and Track Center.
Craig also did well at the NYC Gotham Cup, held on Jan. 20 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. She put in a personal-best time in her heat in the 60 meters, then added a strong performance in a relay.
Marist is scheduled to be back at Boston University this weekend for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
