The Bristol Central boys 4×800-meter relay team of Devin Flores, Mark Petrosky, Pacifico Flores and Jose Ramirez turned in a record effort at the Hillhouse Winter Relays on Saturday.
The Rams won the race in a time of 8:22.15, which bested the old record of 8:25.02 set by Hamden back in 2010. The winning relay helped propel Bristol Central to a fifth place finish as a team out of 14 teams at the meet.
The Bristol Central 4×400-meter relay of Ramon Ambert, Ryan Krompegal, Alejandro Garcia-Rivera and Wilmer Rivera-Ortiz finished third with a time of 3:49.09. The distance medley of Devin Flores, Jose Navedo, Ramirez and Petrosky claimed third with a time of 11:28.78. The 1600-meter sprint medley of Navedo, Hunter Peterson, Ambert and Pacifico Flores took fourth with a time of 4:00.04.
