Eastern’s D’Amato hits record eight 3-pointers in win

Bristol Eastern boys basketball senior Ben D’Amato had a night to remember Thursday in his team’s Central Connecticut Conference home contest against Hartford Public.

D’Amato connected for a school record eight 3-pointers in the 76-33 victory in the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium. Eight made 3-pointers is an accomplishment within itself, but what was more remarkable was D’Amato’s accuracy. The smooth-shooting left-hander made eight of nine three-point attempts and finished with 24 points.

Three-point marksmanship apparently runs in the D’Amato family. Bristol Eastern statistician Mike Letendre posted on X that Ben’s father Chris, a former standout Lancer (Class of 1994) in his own right, once made six 3-pointers in a game.

Eastern improved to 9-3 with the win.
