The Bristol Central, Bristol Eastern and Wolcott girls volleyball teams are all having good seasons.
The Rams are 13-4 while the Lancers and Eagles are 12-4. Central is one of three teams in the CCC to sport a 13-4 record. The Rams did lose, 3-0, to Southington at home on Wednesday night, but they had won five straight matches going into the contest against the Lady Knights. DeAna Powell, Brooke Valentino and Sam Sklenka have been among the Rams who are playing well.
Eastern is one of three teams with a 12-4 record. The Lancers also had a tough loss Wednesday night, 3-2, in a wild match against Conard. The set scores were 25-14, 20-25, 25-15, 25-27, 18-16. Hannah Webber led Eastern with 21 kills and six aces. Lauren Bender had 16 kills and Abby Jones tallied 33 assists. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Lancers.
Wolcott sits behind undefeated Seymour (13-0), Naugatuck (13-2) and Woodland (13-4) in the NVL. The Eagles defeated Watertown, 3-1, on Tuesday night at home. It was Wolcott’s seventh straight win. Abby Wrinn had 10 kills and Megan Zigadto tallied 25 assists for the Eagles against Watertown.
