The Bristol Eastern and Kennedy girls volleyball teams each finished their seasons undefeated, though one ended in the postseason and the other in the regular season.
The Lancers went 11-0 in the regular season and earned the top seed in the Central Connecticut Conference’s Region B. Eastern rallied to beat No. 4 Avon, 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-7, 15-13), in its first Region B, then swept third-seeded Farmington, 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-17), in the second and final match. The Lancers finished the season with a record of 13-0.
Zoe Lowe led Eastern with 170 kills and went over 1,000 for her career during the season. Ryley Plourde also went over 100 kills (114). Lowe was also the leader in aces with 51, followed by Sage Scarritt (28), Emma Rodjenski (26), Leah Chipman (26) and Hannah Webber (23). Webber paced the Lancers with 22 blocks. Lowe was tops in digs with 126 while Chipman passed out 401 assists.
Kennedy wasn’t able to claim a divisional tournament crown after the NVL canceled its postseason experiences, but it still had a great season. The Eagles were led by Vivian Bunker, Alejandra Ruales, Alexandra Ruales, Julia Risi and Nataly Topolosci. Kennedy didn’t lose a set all season.
