Santocroce part of ECSU’s ‘virtual’ cross country championship

The Little East Conference held a virtual cross country championship over a two-week period earlier this fall, and both the Eastern Connecticut women’s and men’s teams captured first place.

Maggie Santocroce, a junior from Bristol Eastern, ran to a ninth place finish out of 37 competitors in a time of 21:28. The Warriors ran their 5K races on Oct. 23 at Hop River Trail. ECSU competed against three other full teams from the LEC, along with a limited number of runners from both Western Connecticut State University and UMass-Dartmouth.

Santocroce was the top returning ECSU runner from last year’s LEC championship team. She finished 18th overall.
