It was a good day for Wolcott baseball on May 14, 2018. That’s because the Eagles wrapped up their second NVL Iron Division title in three seasons with a 4-3 home victory over Watertown.
Wolcott used the pitching of Jack Drewry and top reliever Dane Hassan to nail down the win. Drewry was also involved in all four Eagle runs. Drewry had a solo home run to get Wolcott on the board, then added a two-run single to make it 3-0. The final Eagle run came when Drewry scored on an interference call.
Wolcott also won the division title in 2016, and it later claimed its first state championship.
