Week 8 football: Wolcott, Bristol Eastern have home games tonight

Bristol Central (6-1) got Week 8 of the high school football season started with a 44-8 road victory over E.O. Smith on Thursday night in Storrs.

Four local teams are in action tonight, and two of them will host games, with both beginning at 6:30. Wolcott (3-3) is home against Woodland (4-2) while Bristol Eastern (3-3) defends its turf against South Windsor (4-2).

Two local squads are on the road for 7 p.m. kickoffs. Holy Cross (5-1) has a big game at Naugatuck (4-1) while Kennedy (1-5) is at Watertown.

WCA (3-2) is scheduled to play at Seymour (4-1) on Saturday at noon. Crosby (2-3) and St. Paul (2-3) will be waiting until Monday to take to the grass of McPhee Field in Bristol. The game was originally scheduled for tonight, but was moved due to field conditions following heavy rains.
