Jagger Duquette was a solid pitcher for Mike Giovinazzo at Bristol Eastern, and he put together a memorable performance on Sunday with the Bristol Post 2 American Legion baseball team.
Duquette (2-1) needed just 69 pitches to twirl a no-hitter in Bristol’s 7-0 win over Hartford during the second game of an afternoon doubleheader at Muzzy Field. The Post 2 offense provided Duquette with seven runs and 11 hits worth of support. Bristol scored three runs in the top of the first inning, then added a pair of runs in the third and seventh innings.
Post 2 defeated Hartford 3-1 in the first game of the doubleheader. Bristol scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and pick up the win. Noah Plantamuro (2-0) threw two innings in relief of Alex Balfour and was credited with the win.
Bristol has won four straight games and is 7-2 in Zone 1 play, 9-3 overall.
