Jamie Leggett has been a proficient scorer for the St. Paul boys’ basketball team in his varsity career.
On Friday night, the senior hit a personal milestone when he hit the 1,000-point mark with a pair of free throws. Leggett scored 30 points in his team’s 69-65 overtime win at Oxford. Leggett made 11 field goals, including a 3-pointer. He also sank seven free throws.
“I seen a lot of these buckets in person ! Congrats kid @JamieLeggett10,” tweeted assistant coach Julio Vazquez.
“Congratulations to Jamie Leggett on scoring his 1,000th high school point in tonight’s overtime win at Oxford 💪🏼! #GoFalcons #ctbb,” read a tweet from the St. Paul athletics account.
Appreciation also came from outside St. Paul as well.”Congrats @JamieLeggett10,” read a reply from the Lewis Mills boys’ basketball Twitter account.
The 30-point effort wasn’t Leggett’s most prolific of the season. He tallied 35 of his team’s 73 points in a home win over Seymour earlier this season.
Leggett has scored 28 points twice in a game and hit for 25 in another.
