St. Paul girls basketball picked up a big 52-45 NVL win over Sacred Heart on Wednesday night inside the Rev. Brian Monnerat Gymnasium. The Falcons improved to 6-2 while the Hearts dropped to 4-2.
Janessa Gonzalez led St. Paul with 19 points while Jade Udoh added 12 points and 14 rebounds Liv Heslin struck for eight points and 12 rebounds for the Falcons. St. Paul trailed by three points after the first quarter, but outscored Sacred Heart 11-4 in the second quarter to take a 27-23 halftime lead. The Falcons used an 11-6 third quarter to build their lead to 38-29. Gonzalez and Emma Cretella each made a pair of 3-pointers in the victory.
For Sacred Heart, Aamya Rivera had a game-high 20 points while Mikayla Mobley added 12 points.
