Bristol Eastern girls volleyball’s Class L run ends in semifinal round

Bristol Eastern girls volleyball made a strong run in Class L, but it came to an end in the semifinal round on Wednesday night.

The fourth-seeded Lancers lost in straight sets to the top-seeded Woodstock Academy Centaurs at Windsor High School. The set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 27-25. Bristol Eastern ended its season with a record of 19-4. Woodstock moved onto the state final, where it lost in five sets to No. 2 seed Joel Barlow on Saturday in East Haven.

Zoe Lowe led the Lancers with 15 kills while Bella Nozzolillo added five. Aliana Rivoira served up seven aces and passed out 25 assists while Ryley Plourde added three blocks. Lowe tallied 11 digs, Rivoira added 10 and Amber Blais chipped in eight. Alex DiMattia received 20 serves while making just two errors. Lowe received 19 serves and made three errors, and Blais received 11 serves without a single error.

It was a great season for Eastern, which loses DiMattia, Olivia Beaudoin, Nozzolillo, Blais and Rivoira to graduation.
