The former Sacred Heart star didn’t shoot well from the floor, but he was nearly automatic at the foul line in games against Tennessee and Alabama. His foul shots at the end of the game helped put the Crimson Tide away.
What happened last week
Tennessee: In the 87-77 loss Tuesday at home, Heron played 28 minutes and scored 12 points. He shot just 3-for-12 from the floor, but was 5-for-6 on free throws. Heron had one rebound, one assist and committed two personal fouls.
Alabama: When the Tigers needed free throws to finally halt the Tide Saturday, Heron was automatic. In the final minute, he made two shots to extend the Auburn lead to 80-74, then knocked down another pair to put the Tigers up 82-77. In 31 minutes, Heron scored 13 points on 3-for-8 shooting (1-for-2 on 3s) and 6-for-6 foul shots. He had two rebounds, two steals and committed two fouls.
The week ahead
Auburn, 15-8 overall and 4-6 in conference play, takes on Mississippi State at home Tuesday before traveling to Ole Miss Saturday.

The Herd had a rough week at home, losing to Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech. Brooks, aformer Bristol Eastern star, played 38 minutes against the Lady Eagles, but just 14 against the Lady Techsters.
What happened last week
Southern Miss: Brooks played all but two minutes against the Lady Eagles in Thursday’s 82-78 loss. She scored nine points on 4-for-5 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and passed out five assists. Brooks had one steal, two turnovers and one personal foul. Marshall was ahead by as much as 19 points but failed to close out Southern Miss.
Louisiana Tech: It wasn’t a good game Saturday for Brooks or The Herd in the 72-54 loss. Brooks came off the bench for Marshall, but committed three fouls and played 14 minutes. She didn’t score and didn’t attempt a shot, but did grab five rebounds. Brooks also had two turnovers.
The week ahead
Marshall, 12-10 overall and 4-7 in the conference, could use a win. The Herd have one game this week, Saturday at home against Western Kentucky.

The Minutemen lost their lone game of the week at La Salle, and the former Sacred Heart standout played just eight minutes. 
What happened last week
La Salle: The Minutemen dropped their fourth straight game, losing 88-78 to the Explorers on Wednesday in Philadelphia. Flowers nearly matched his point total to his minutes played. He attempted three shots, all 3s, and made two for six points. He had one rebound, one assist, one turnover and committed two fouls.
The week ahead
UMass, 12-11 overall and just 2-8 in conference play, has two games this week. The Minutemen are home Tuesday against Rhode Island, then heads back to Philadelphia on Saturday to play Saint Joseph’s.

In their lone game of the week, The Griz knocked off Montana State 90-84 at home Saturday. The former Wilby standout came off the bench and played 15 minutes.
What happened last week
Montana State: Wright scored four points in his 15 minutes. He shot 1-for-4 from the field, including 0-for-3 from three-point range. Wright made both of his foul shots and dished out two assists. Wright made his free throws in the final seconds of the first half to put Montana ahead 30-29 at halftime.
The week ahead
Montana, 11-13 overall and 6-5 in conference play, is on the road for both of its games this week. The Griz play at Southern Utah on Thursday, then go to Northern Arizona on Saturday.
