HIGH 5 OF THE WEEK: Mallory goes off for season-high 40 points in SCSU win

The senior and former standout at Holy Cross and Marianapolis Prep went off for the Owls on Wednesday.
Mallory
struck for a season-high 40 points in an 86-79 SCSU win. He got there
in large part by burying 8 of 11 three-point shots.
Mallory
scored 20 points in both halves, including 15 on five 3-pointers in the
first half. Mallory wound up playing all 40 minutes, dished out four
assists and blocked one shot.
Mallory was averaging 22.5 points per game before his 40-point explosion. He has started all 14 games. 
Going into the most recent game, Mallory was shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 34.6 behind the three-point line, and 82.1 at the foul line.
SCSU has a 10-4 record so far this season. 

O’Donnell (Assumption athletics)

Kiera O’Donnell, Assumption College basketball
The Greyhounds have the ninth-ranked team in the most recent Division II East Region media poll, and O’Donnell has been a part of it since the start of the season.
Assumption has played 12 games, and the former Holy Cross standout has seen action in all of them. O’Donnell has started 11 of those 12 games, averaging 26.1 minutes per contest. 
She is scoring 7.3 points per game on 42.7 percent shooting, 62.5 percent in limited three-point attempts.  
O’Donnell is second on the team in rebounds per game (6.1), third in steals (1.2).
O’Donnell’s best scoring game of the year came against one of the country’s best teams — Bentley — on Nov. 22. She had 12 points in that game and has hit for 11 points two times, 9 points two more times. 

Petteway (NW Florida State athletics)

Northwest Florida State College has one of the best ju-co teams in the country, and the former Sacred Heart standout has started all 16 games.
Ten players on the Raiders average double digits in minutes, and Petteway is up there at 20.4 per game. Petteway averages 8.9 points per game, but he is more looked at for his rebounding. Petteway is second on the team in that category, averaging 6.3 boards per contest.
Petteway also averages 1.1 steals per game, a nice number for a 6-foot-7 forward. Petteway is a sophomore at Northwest Florida State.

Siders (AIC athletics)

Rashana Siders, American International College basketball
This former Holy Cross star has played in all 15 games for the Yellowjackets.
Siders is averaging a respectable 15.8 minutes per game off the bench and has chipped in an average of five points in that time. Siders leads AIC in three-point attempts (54) and three-point makes (18).
Siders played 15 minutes on the nose in her last game on Wednesday.    

Thompson (Southern Maine athletics)

Zac Thompson, University of Southern Maine wrestling 
The former Bristol Eastern star was getting plenty of mat time for the Huskies before an injury forced him out of the lineup.
Thompson has compiled a 9-9 record so far in his freshman season at Southern Maine. He has won two matches in a row on four different occasions this season. Wrestling at Bridgewater State on Dec. 11, Thompson won his first match by decision, then lost by decision. He was supposed to wrestle a third match, but had to default because of injury.
Two of Thompson’s nine wins have come by major decision.
