After a tough loss in the season opener, the Bristol Eastern girls basketball team rebounded with a 61-56 win in its home opener against Wethersfield on Thursday night.
Diana Wnuk had 18 points and nine rebounds while Hannah Maghini tallied 17 points and five assists, according to a box score reported to the Hartford Courant. Meredith Forman grabbed nine rebounds for the Lancers, who improved to 1-1.
Kennedy 40, Kaynor Tech 28: The Eagles spoiled the Panther season opener and improved to 2-0 on the season.
It was also the home opener for Kaynor Tech.
Brookfield 49, Wilby 11: It was a rough outing for the Wildcats on the road against the Bobcats.
Wilby is 0-2 on the season.
East Catholic 44, Bristol Central 35: The Rams took a road trip to Manchester and came back home with their second loss of the season.
Bristol Central fell to 0-2.
