The Eagles just put together a school record 10-match win streak, and the former Bristol Eastern standout was right in the middle of it.
Post set the record with a 3-0 win (25-21, 27-25, 25-18) over Bentley at home inside the Drubner Center last Thursday. Root, the team leader in assists, tallied 36 that night. Root’s well-placed hit clinched the second set for the Eagles.
Post broke the previous mark of nine straight wins, which happened in 2004.
For the season, Root has 471 assists and is one of five Eagles with double digits (12) in service aces. Root is fourth in digs with 112.



John Ducham, Post University cross country

graduate is one of the leaders of the Eagles.
On Sunday, Ducham finished fourth out of 164 runners in the York College Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. Ducham ran the 8K race in 28:48.4. The men’s team took ninth overall at the meet, led by Ducham.
Ducham placed 18th and was the top runner for Post in the Philadelphia Metro Invitational at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia on Sept. 10. 
Ducham was the second best runner in the NVL, first in his division, as a senior at Kennedy.

K.J. Smith, Central Connecticut State University football

The Blue Devils lost their Northeast Conference opener to Bryant, but sophomore K.J. Smith put together a good effort.
The former Bristol Eastern standout had five catches for a team-high 75 yards, and one of those grabs was a touchdown. Smith caught a three-yard pass from Jacob Dolegala early in the fourth quarter for the score.
Smith is first on CCSU in touchdown receptions (2), second in yards (162), and third in catches (13).
Smith scored his first career touchdown in a game at James Madison earlier this season.

The Bristol Central graduates have been mainstays in the Blazer starting lineup during their sophomore seasons.

Dabkowski (Elms College

Macdonald tallied his first point of the season at a key point in a 3-2 victory over Mitchell College last Saturday evening.
Macdonald, a sophomore, had an assist on the Shaquille Robinson goal that gave Elms a 2-1 lead in the second half. The Blazers went ahead 3-1 before claiming a 3-2 victory.
Both MacDonald and Dabkowski, a junior, have started the first eight matches for Elms. Macdonald plays defense while Dabkowski is in the midfield.
