The Crosby boys basketball team made a loud first impression on the statewide stage Tuesday evening with a blistering 90-56 victory over New London in the inaugural CPTV Sports Tip-Off Classic at Meriden’s Maloney High School.
Senior Jordan Booker led the Bulldog onslaught with 29 points, including six 3-pointers, according to team stats posted on MaxPreps.com. Junior Jeremiah Kendall tallied 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds while senior Roary Jadusingh tallied 13 points and five rebounds. Booker and Jadusingh had five steals apiece while Kendall contributed four and junior Daquan Sinisterra three.
Crosby erupted for a 29-5 lead after one quarter and opened it up to 53-25 by halftime. The Bulldogs outscored the Whalers 22-16 for a 75-41 lead after three quarters. Crosby head coach Nick Augelli used 12 different players in the game, and nine of them scored.
The Bulldogs return to conference play tonight at home against Wilby at 7 p.m. It’s the first home game at Crosby since the court was named after Augelli.
