In a matchup of Top 10 teams, No. 1 Sacred Heart boys basketball rolled to a 96-61 win over No. 9 Crosby in front of another SRO crowd at Alumni Hall.
The Hearts have now won 40 straight games and are 8-0 on the season, but their busy weekend has just started.
Sacred Heart travels to Springfield, Mass., tomorrow for a 7:45 p.m. game against Foothills Christian from California. The game is part of the Spalding Hoophall Classic and will be played at Blake Arena on the campus of Springfield College.
The Hearts also have a game Monday at Baruch College in New York against Long Island Lutheran at 5:45 p.m. That game is part of the Big Apple Basketball High School Invitational.
Crosby drops to 6-2 on the season. The Bulldogs get another shot at the Hearts on Tuesday, Feb. 9, on Nick Augelli Court inside the Crosby Palace. That game is slated for a 7 p.m. start. Crosby has plenty of games before that rematch, however, and their next contest is Tuesday night at Seymour at 7.
