Drewry swings hot bat in first games with Wolcott Terryville Scrappers

The Wolcott Terryville Scrappers recently added another potent bat to their lineup.

Wolcott Terryville has a very strong presence from the right side of the batter’s box, but this new addition hits from the left side.

Wolcott native Jack Drewry began his Wolcott Terryville Scrapper tenure with a bang, earning Connecticut Twilight League Player of the Week honors for Week 10. All Drewry did was hit .667 with four hits, three runs scored, two doubles, a walk, a stolen base and three RBIs.

Wolcott Terryville finished the regular season at 17-3-1 and clinched the top seed in the CTL playoffs, which came with a bye. Six of the league’s other eight teams have several makeup games this week. The playoffs begin on Aug. 4, though Wolcott Terryville won’t play its first postseason game until Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Glastonbury.
