Central, Eastern girls’ basketball teams see seasons end in Class L’s second round

The Bristol Central and Bristol Eastern girls’ basketball teams saw their seasons end this past Thursday in Class L second round action.

The eighth-seeded Rams dropped a home game, 58-46, to ninth-seeded North Haven of the Southern Connecticut Conference. The No. 19 Lancers fell on the road to third-seeded E.O. Smith, a Central Connecticut Conference foe, by a 58-38 margin.

Central pulled to within three points of North Haven early in the third quarter, but the visiting Nighthawks pushed their advantage back to double digits and the Rams didn’t have enough to come back. Nicole Riemer and Arianna Rivera did what they could for Central, which finished with a record of 17-7. The Rams lose Kaley Laird to graduation. Laird was the lone senior on the Central roster.

Autumn Udoh led Eastern with 20 points. Taigan Parent scored six points in her final game as a Lancer. Parent was the lone senior on the Eastern roster. The Lancers finished with a record of 11-12.
