Taylor, Henebery help WCSU men’s swim team set school records

A pair of former local standouts helped the Western Connecticut State University men’s swimming team break school records at the Connecticut Cup this past weekend.

Freshman Noah Taylor, who competed for the Bristol Co-op, helped the 400-yard individual medley set a school record. Taylor combined with teammates Evan Shopbell, Ian Chen and David Lawrence to swim the race in 3:54.55.

Sophomore Connor Henebery, who competed for Sacred Heart, helped the 200-yard medley relay set a school record. Henebery combined with teammates Shopbell, Lawrence and Rafael Masbad to swim the race in 1:45.10.

The Connecticut Cup was WCSU’s last competition until the new year. The Wolves host Maritime College (New York) on Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
