Bristol co-op downs Mills, improves to 6-0

It has been a team effort all season for the Bristol Co-op boys swimming and diving team, and that continued on Tuesday in an away meet against Lewis Mills at the Dennis Malone Aquatic Center.

Mikel Palaj, normally a swimmer, subbed in on the diving board and took first place. Palaj also won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.44 seconds. Nathan Stellmach (200 freestyle, 1:55.46); Noah Taylor (200 IM, 2:20.57); Thomas Masotti (100 butterfly, 1:01.66); Miles Jennings (100 freestyle, 57.56); and Davis Kroll (500 freestyle, 5:25.22). Bristol also won the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay races. The team of Kroll, Stellmach, Palaj and Taylor took first in the 200 medley relay in 1:47.39. The quartet of Stellmach, Jennings, Taylor and Kroll was first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:40.95.

Bristol improved to 6-0 on the season. They are scheduled to swim against a pair of co-ops this coming week. Bristol hosts Bulkeley-HMTCA on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. and E.O. Smith-Tolland on Friday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m.
