The Wolcott softball team will be the No. 2 seed when the NVL tournament begins with quarterfinal round play on Saturday. Quarterfinal round games will be at the higher seed.
The Eagles, who went 15-3 in the NVL, play at Thomaston at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the regular season finale. Wolcott earned the No. 2 seed in the NVL tournament by winning 14 straight games. The streak began with a 15-0 victory over Crosby on April 14 at George Babcock Softball Field. The last win of the streak was 8-3 at Watertown on May 12. The Eagles are led by the 1-2 pitching punch of Sofia Gugliotti and Kaitlyn Ouellette. Wolcott has had a strong offense this season as well.
Holy Cross will also be playing in the NVL tournament.
