The St. Paul boys basketball team saw its five-game winning streak end on Wednesday night in a 63-49 loss at Naugatuck.

The Falcons had lost their season opener at Seymour, but responded with wins over Naugatuck, Watertown, Torrington, Wolcott and Seymour to get to 5-1. The Greyhounds got a win in the rematch on Wednesday, the first time the Falcons had tasted defeat in over two weeks.

So how did St. Paul respond? By taking care of business in its own division against Watertown in a 72-60 home win on Friday night. The Falcons displayed tremendous offensive balance. Will Barton and Alex Partyka each scored 17 points while Jamie Leggett and Tommy Lorenzetti added 15 points apiece. The offensive balance has been a big part of St. Paul’s success this season, and it continued on Friday night.

St. Paul (6-2) hosts Torrington Tuesday at 6:15 before heading to Derby on Friday for a 6:30 contest.
