When summer baseball begins in 2021, the Bristol Greeners will be in a new league.
“As the new year begins, we are proud to announce that we will be joining the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League @ghtbl for the 2021 season!” read a post by the team on Facebook on Saturday. “We want to thank the Tri-State League for many enjoyable years, and we look forward to this new chapter in Greeners history”
Bristol was a member of the Nutmeg State Baseball League this past summer after the Connecticut Tri-State Baseball League canceled its season over COVID-19 pandemic concerns. Before that, the Greeners were a member of the Tri-State League since their inception in 2009.
The South Windsor Phillies were the top team in the GHTBL during the regular season in 2000, but the East Hartford Jets were the playoff champions. The GHTBL has been around since 1929.
