Kennedy girls volleyball having a terrific season

Kennedy girls volleyball has been having a tremendous year, posting a
15-3 record with two matches to go in the regular season.

The Eagles started the season 2-2, losing matches against Seymour and Woodland. Kennedy was swept at Seymour in the season opener on
Sept. 13, then was defeated, 3-1, by Woodland at home on Sept. 20.

The Eagles ripped off nine straight victories, including two wins over Holy Cross and single victories over Ansonia, Nonnewaug, Wilby, Waterbury Career Academy, Wolcott, St. Paul, Sacred Heart and Plainville.

The winning streak ended with a 3-1 loss at Naugatuck, which was undefeated at the time, on Oct. 15. Kennedy has won four straight since that loss, defeating Watertown, Holy Cross, Torrington and Crosby.

Kennedy has received solid play from seniors Britney Barton, Tesi Tili, Jalissa Robles and Kariny Topolosci. along with junior Vivian Bunker. The Eagles close the regular season with matches at Oxford and Wilby. Kennedy plays Oxford today at 5:15 p.m. and Wilby on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
