Connor Fitzsimons was recently honored as the Midwest League Player of the Week after his efforts on offense for the Burlington Bees. The Bees are a Single ‘A’ full-season affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Fitzsimons was named Player of the Week on July 1 for what he did during the period of June 24-30. Fitzsimons was 6-for-14 hitting (.429 average) with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, seven RBI, three runs scored and three walks. Fitzsimons had a slugging percentage of .556, and his on-base plus slugging was 1.143.
Fitzsimons homered, scored a run and drove in four runs on June 25 in a 9-0 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits. On June 29, Fitzsimons homered again, scored a run and drove in a 6-5 victory over the Peoria Chiefs.
For the season, Fitzsimons has six home runs, which puts him a three-way tie for second on the Bees. The six home runs are the same amount that he hit in all of 2018.
Burlington has a record of 44-42. Fitzsimons was a standout for Bristol Eastern before playing for four years at Central Connecticut State University.
