Leave it up to this dreary, wet spring to bring all three Bristol softball teams together for a rare city doubleheader today at Casey Field.
At 4:15 p.m., Bristol Central (8-7) hosts Rocky Hill (4-11) in a CCC crossover game. At about 6:15 p.m., Bristol Eastern (12-4) goes outside the CCC for a non-conference game against next-door neighbor St. Paul (14-3). The Lancers are designated as the home team, according to the CIAC.
Central just clinched a Class L state tournament berth with a win in its last game and is looking to extend its winning streak to three games. St. Paul’s offense erupted in a 17-14 win over Woodland Regional on Saturday, and the Falcons would like to see their bats stay hot. Eastern is coming off of a tough 4-3, 13-inning loss at Berlin on Saturday.
