St. Paul, Sacred Heart and Holy Cross are the top three seeds in the NVL girls basketball tournament. The tournament begins on Saturday at Holy Cross High School.
The quarterfinal round opens with a matchup of No. 4 Ansonia (14-4 NVL) and No. 5 Naugatuck (12-5) at 11 a.m. Top-seeded St. Paul (18-0) takes on No. 8 Oxford (10-8). At 2:30 p.m., third-seeded Holy Cross (14-3) will play No. 6 Seymour (12-6). Second-seeded Sacred Heart (15-3) faces No. 7 Watertown (11-7) at 4:15 p.m.
The semifinals are next Monday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Kennedy High School. The All-NVL teams will be announced in between the semifinal games. The NVL final is next Wednesday at 7 p.m., also at Kennedy.
