The Wolcott boys basketball team wasn’t far off the century mark in a 93-87 statement victory at home over a good Torrington team on Tuesday night.
Three Eagles scored at least 22 points in the win, led by a game-high 30 from Brian Perzhilla. Perzilla made eight field goals, including two 3-pointers, and knocked down 10 foul shots on the way to his 30 points. Elmin Redzepagic had 28 points (5 3-pointers) while Chris Harris added 22 points, including 15 free throws. The Eagles made 29 foul shots as a team.
Wolcott improved to 6-1 with the win and hasn’t lost a game to an NVL team so far this season (5-0).
Falcon girls get solid home win
St. Paul girls basketball hosted Naugatuck in a battle of two-loss teams on Tuesday, and it was the Falcons who came away with the 53-36 victory.
Jade Udoh was big again inside for St. Paul with a game-high 22 points to go along with six rebounds. Janessa Gonzalez poured in 14 points, and Catherine Ciampi had a great all-around game with four points, four assists, four steals and seven rebounds.
St. Paul improved to 8-2 while Naugatuck fell to 6-3.
