Bristol Eastern coach Lishness gets 200th win

Bristol Eastern wrestling is one of the state’s premier programs. The Lancers have won back-to-back Class L state championships and have been victorious in their last 48 dual meets.

Eastern coach Bryant Lishness added a personal milestone on Wednesday evening in a 73-6 win over Platt at Bristol Eastern High School. Lishness picked up his 200th career dual meet victory, according to a tweet from Marisa Calvi-Rogers, principal of Bristol Eastern. That win was the 48th straight in the dual meet streak.

Eastern improved to 12-0 in dual meets on the season, including a 4-0 mark in the CCC South Division. The Lancers won eight bouts via fall, four by forfeit and one by decision. Trent Thompson (106), Aaron Morocho (120), Tom Nichols (132), Gabe Soucy (138), Justin Marshall (152), Noah Piazza (160), Joseph Morelli (170) and Nick St. Peter (285) won by pin. Mason Lishness (113), Andrew Lozier (126), Alexander Marshall (145) and Trinidad Gonzalez (220) took forfeits, and Ethan Mathieu (195) won a 13-7 decision.

Eastern competes in the CT Challenge on Saturday at Southington High School.
