Southern Connecticut State University men’s cross country won the Northeast-10 Conference championship for the first time earlier this month, and two locals were at the forefront of that historic effort.
Christopher LeBeau and Terrell Patterson were recognized by the NE-10 for their efforts throughout the season. Here’s more about each local runner:
Christopher LeBeau, Southern Connecticut State University

The Bristol Eastern standout was the top Owl finisher in the NE-10 championship race, claiming third place, and now he can add Rookie of the Year and first team all-conference to his growing list of accolades.
LeBeau, a sophomore at SCSU, is in his first year running for the cross country program after doing just track and field as a freshman. What a first season it has been for LeBeau. Besides taking third at the NE-10 championships, LeBeau finished second in the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup (Oct. 20), 38th at the Paul Short Invitational (Sept. 29), seventh at the Kutztown DII Challenge (Sept. 15), and 10th at the Adelphi Panther Invitational (Aug. 31).
